I don't know how good you were but these kids are the best that high schools have to offer and are in the top 100-200 in the country. They don't wonder, they know that they are good and can crush the opposition.

Every game they also want to dominate the opposition - they just feel that they can do it with less effort against an inferior opponent. They find carrying a cordless portable drill is lighter than bringing a corded pneumatic hammer drill.

They keep using the cordless and find that it is not working and keeps jumping and then after the half they decide to bring the heavy equipment out and then realize that the whole place is pockmarked with ugly little holes and they have to avoid it and start afresh. They do so and get the job done and by that time the game is over and you don't see a full time domination

To give another example - there are a lot of chess international grandmasters who play 25 players at a time for charity or fundraising or just for fun.

They run from table to table making moves. They expect to win by just scanning the table when they arrive there - but by chance say there is a good player who doesn't participate in competitions, he has a very good chance of sneaking in a couple of strategical placements before the champ knows it.

Now in the 8th move, when 17 folks have already been defeated, the champ moves to this table and gets a punch in the face and he realizes that he should have paid attention because this guy came to play. The good news for the champ is that he is still the grandmaster and can win at any time and he knows it regardless of the sloppy play before and recovery needed now to win.

So what you see is not an excuse - it is the heights of arrogance/pride that is justified due to being elite athletes.

Point being- a well coached disciplined team does not allow a non FBS team to hang 22 points up, motivated or not. I get it. I just feel like after hearing about the halftime incidents, fictional or not, at the national championship, things that go wrong are much more likely to be pointed toward coaching. Im gunna get railed for this but so be it. How do u justify pulling a qb who is 8 - 0 with mauck/flynn like statistics for another guy? Much less a guy who is arrested for "allegedly" kicking a marine in the face? You can't. Now, we all make mistakes and i get that. But This situation alone brought on so much division between players and coaches that im not sure if it can be healed. I for one, hope im wrong.
