Im only going to be shooting about 20 yards. I have large groups of 20-30 coming in every morning and evening. Most days there coming in for a mid day snack as well. Im thinking a shotgun with no plug and buckshot. whats the ob think?

I am going buy about 10lbs of exploding target.
Putting it in the middle of a big pile of corn.
Hogs gather around for a nice family dinner.
Boom!
I am expecting major carnage.
Will report back with results.

Dude! If you're seriously do that GoPro that shite.
Or at least use your phone. That's too epic for 'no pics.'

If you have groups like that, I would for sure use an AR. Or an auto shotgun with no plug and buckshots or
A Judge.

Oh it will be on film. We just have to find a spot where they are coming in masses during daylight hours.

#4 buckshot and hope you hit them in the gut so they run far enough away from your feeder area or setup and die so you don't have to spend a ton of time removing dead pigs from your area.
Thats how I would work it, but I also think pigs over about 60lbs aren't worth a hill of beans.

Last time I checked, which was a while back, I don't think you could pull your plug out of your shotgun, even to hunt hogs. I could be wrong though, and even then, you'd probably have to piss off ol' green jeans to get in trouble for that.
Shotgun would probably be pretty effective... if you're a decent shot with a rifle, an AR with open sights or a reflex/eotech would work well. It won't take them long to clear out though.
The advantage of having a rifle would be that you could try and line as many of them up in a row and get a few on the first shot(probably need more than .223 to get more than two though).

depends on what your are good at shooting.
auto shotgun short barrel with #4 buck will work great as will AR or SKS/AK.
If using a rifle I would suggest hollow points though. If lots of small piglets (still with stripes) shoot the sow with the big teets and then pick of the piglets afterwards.
and hogs are good eating at all sizes as I have said before but under 20 lbs there just is not enough meat or fat to screw with.

a FMJ .223 will go through 3 hogs of 60-80 lbs without problem at close range.

I have two man ladder stand. Kinda thinking i might use a shotgun and get jimjackandjose to line em up with a rifle if he gets off work early enough. I don't feel like cleaning a shite ton of pigs either. maybe 1 or 2. Hopefully they will run off and die by a assholes stand near me.

I agre though they are kind of like a buffet, you go and get bits of the things you like because there is plenty to choose from so I get your point.
I usually just take backstraps and leave the rest.
