I'd like to see more plays out of this formation. Gives him a little more time, cuts down on the footwork and we can still run out of it. In fact he would get the ball to the RB quicker probably. Mett buying time running with the ball and trying to throw on the run is a train wreck. I do think he is a much better passer then what we have had, but our pass blocking is hurting him and he doesn't have the wheels to make plays that way.

Nah,,,if we have to count on Mett slinging it around we will lose. We need to establish the running game, then run some play action to catch them off guard deep with beckham.

Not saying Mett needs to sling it around, we can actually run out of this as well. Just saying with Mett's mobility, might be a good thing to try.

Even with Copeland fine, I'd like to see a little more of that stuff. I really think Mett can be good for us if used correctly. We just can't expect him to make plays with his feet.

If you run shotgun with 4 WR's, you better be ready to release the ball quickly. Since Spurrier started this trend in the mid-90's, the way to defend it has been to blitz the QB and knock him out of the game. At the least, knock the accuracy right out of him.

Man,,,,I expect Mettenberger to take some nasty hits next week. He is young and certain defensive looks are confusing him, but he has to learn. If we keep it on the ground and play defense we will come out with a win.

Well, first of all I didn't say we have to do 4 WRs. I'd keep more blockers in. But him being back a bit should help him with reading the defense and give him more time to get the ball off.

The stuff he is struggling with right now is the bread and butter of the pro game

Right now he is light years away from being ready to make an nfl roster

Obviously this could change dramatically as he gets more experience. For everybody's sake he has to get better under center

If we turn it over like we have been we are screwed. I just hope we have a great gameplan set up for UF. I don't think they are good as everyone else does, but they will beat us in the Swamp if we play like we have the past 2 weeks.

Last thing we can think about is Mett making an NFL roster. We just need to worry about LSU putting a better offense on the field. Right now this kid is struggling with a lot of the stuff we have been doing a ton of the past few years. We have to switch it up to suit his strengths IMO.

If we had an O line that could pass protect for days this kid could be a monster I think. That just isn't the case.

Agree. The kid has a great arm and accuracy when he sets his feet.
