Well since according to this board any group that improvises at some point in time in a live set is considered a jam band, yea, I guess they are.

it really is something with these people My band has a couple of spots in our set where it gets weird/solo but we aren't a jam band
You have to understand these are the people that think Scotland's mogwai is a jam band because they have 15 minute songs.
In that case, nofx is a jam band, and Godspeed you black emperor is too
