I know some of you will probably laugh at that statement after last night's performance, but it's true..
Our passing offense was nearly non-existent last year. Our run game was good but this year we are even better with depth unlike any in college football at that position. Mettenberger will improve..this was his first big game on the road reminiscent to Lee's first real test vs Auburn in 2008..Our offense is shaky, yes..but IF(and that's a big if)our offensive line can improve protecting Mett and avoid the injury bug, we will be a very well rounded football team in that regard..
Defensively, we are very, very good as usual. Alabama will not be able to run on us..heck, nobody will. Throwing is another matter. Although we are still very good, we could improve there. Linebackers look solid thus far
Schedule wise...It is a GREAT thing that Mett is going on the road twice in three weeks to hostile environments. This will prepare him further and get him comfortable in otherwise stressful situations. The GOOD thing is that our Defense can carry us through the toughest part of the slate, which is undoubtedly from playing AT Florida, to home against a good USC squad, to playing AT A&M.
I am confident we will get through the next month unscathed. That doesn't mean it will be easy by any stretch of the imagination but our D will give the Gators fits and our running game will really come full circle with Ware, Hilliard, and Ford leading the charge with Blue coming back from the injury.
The sky is not falling. This is typical Les Miles football. Win, even if LSU fans have piles of fingernails and shreds of hair in front of their seats
We will be ok...look for Mett to light it up through the air in basically a scrimmage against Towson

By typical Les Miles football do you mean games that we win because of the large disparity in talent between us and our opponents....in which a potted plant with a high hat could be our head coach and we'd still win?
What I see is a sloppy, undisciplined team that has loads of potential that is being hindered by poor coaching, unimaginative play calling, and a streak of bad luck with injuries.

Could we have put the game away early? Yes..that would have gotten the crowd out of it. But Mett(gasp)made a couple of key mistakes in his first road start as an SEC QB and that allowed AU and their fans to climb back into this game. You are not realizing that Auburn is just a very disparaged SEC team right now..they are NOT devoid of talent(well, except at the quarterback position).

Did you think this last year as well? You must have, because our offense looked atrocious and we still managed to win 13 games, an SEC Championship, and at least make it to the national title game

Agreed. Supremely talented with a few weaknesses that could potentially be fixed with adjustments that will not be made either in game or in season. Luck will fall either way and they'll end up undefeated or losing 1 or 2 games they shouldn't.

Tell that to the Saints (or Arkansas).
There's no reason to marginalize the importance of a HC.
If Miles was a potted plant, we would have lost both games last year to the superior Bama.
But we didn't.
I mean, after all, Saban is "THE GREATEST FOOTBALL COACH OF ALL TIME OH MY GOD I HOPE HE HAS MERCY ON US"

Well, since you wanna bring up Mile vs. Alabama. What happened in the second game? I'll tell you. He got completely out frickin coached. He made no halftime adjustments like a good coach is supposed to because he didn't know what the hell to do.
the first game was a got damn gift because we was completely out played! But you clowns always pull the "Saban is the greatest coach of all time" card out your asses to save face for Miles' incomptence.

Explain that.
But remember, Miles did nothing.

And I especially like the potted plant with a high hat comment.

Don't you get tired of always being an over-emotional woman?

They looked pretty solid against Washington
Few penalties...total domination
You people forget that Auburn has recruited well and played really hard last time... They have a lot of pride.
Lots of bad things happened... T it up next week and we beat Auburn 3 TDs...
We got a win...
Let's learn and move forward.
UF will be really tough

Not really. In all reality, as horrible as we played on offense, Bama should have beaten us by worse. It was Miles stubbornness that cost us the game. He REFUSED to put Lee in, even after it was blatantly obvious Jefferson could not move the ball against Alabama. You act as if Saban was just on another level of coaching that game..it really wasn't that complicated
That game was winnable. The difference in the second game was that Bama actually made their field goals and was able to complete enough passes to get into scoring range

There won't be a tougher test for this team outside of bama, imo. And no, I'm not overlooking GA. GA will be tough, but Auburn was inspired. Their crowd was huge for them, and their D played extremely well. That was a great SEC defensive battle.
