So... having a Democrat running for president to boost his electoral chances is selling out but having a Republican running for president to boost his electoral chances is not remotely the same thing?
Dude are you trolling are just being dense? Obama isn't just "running for president" as Bush was in 2000. He IS FREAKING PRESIDENT while our embassies across the world are under assault. How can you not see the difference?

Let's take each phrase one at a time.
"He IS FREAKING PRESIDENT"
Doesn't that make him sort of a great guest? I mean, I don't know about you, but if I had a show built around booking famous people, getting the FREAKING PRESIDENT is a pretty great get. I mean, isn't that sort of Letterman's job? To get guests that people will want to watch to drive up his ratings? You realize you're currently arguing that a talk show booking the Most Powerful Man in the World is somehow bad and something he shouldn't do.
Part two:
"while our embassies across the world are under assault"
I'm not sure why this matters at all. Letterman's not a news reporter and he's not going to grill the president on foreign policy. But let's say it really does matter. The embassies are part of this nation. so we are therefore under assault, but your own admission.
Aren't we supposed to rally around our leaders and public officials when we are under attack? Isn't that why people were very bad for criticizing W agter 9/11? If we are "under assault", shouldn't we be rallying behind the Head of State?
I was trying to interpret your comments as being angry over helping a political candidate over another candidate because, frankly, I can't figure out why anyone would be angry by the alternative. You're mad that Letterman booked the President when given a chance? Really?
Why? I can't fathom why. W appeared on Ellen when he was president. Does that make Ellen a sell out? Or was she just, you know, getting a great booking?
