Nevis was a pretty big recruit and I think he was even a Rivals100 guy.
You thought wrong
Nope. Just went and checked and Nevis was #93 on Rivals Top 100.

It's pretty criminal how underrated Neal and Patterson are in the rankings...
Especially Patterson.
Especially Patterson.

Hes still raw at DT. Took most if his snaps last season at OT. It would be the same as talking about ego, and johnson last year. Potential is there, but they didnt wow anybody outside a couple of plays last year and they could have had their pick of any school.

According to Tevin the LSU coaches have talked to him about the possibility of playing end as well

better names, lavar edwards and drake nevis. If you saw their high school film, you were not that impressed.
Nevis had 18 sacks his senior year
Doesn't surprise me about Lavar though. He was like 60 lbs heavier in high school than he is now.

Definitely keep us updated. Always enjoy hearing from people that watch the games in person.
Watched Bastrop 2014 DL Johnnie Marsaw this past Friday against Ruston and was impressed with his aggressiveness. He is a solid kid who is strong & faster than I thought he'd be. My cousin, who is a Bastrop coach, told me he had been working all summer on his speed. He's pretty athletic.
Couple of pics (#93):
Their DT's are under 6' but are some wide bodies (Marsaw at bottom playing DE):

I just listed Logan and Thomas because they were both listed as DEs as recruits but were always projected as DTs by our staff. The added quickness and athletic abilty is what they project and in that regard they're similar to Lawson.
Honestly I missed the Edwards recruitment(was kind of out of circulation if you know what I mean) so I can't speak for his hs talents. If he was as you guys say then he's made a hell of a transformation. That guy plays balls out now. Great effort guy.

I remember people questioning why Glenn Dorsey got an offer in high school. He was 6'2 290, was pretty strong, had ok speed and agility for a big man, but took a lot of plays off and didn't play with the motor he played with at LSU. His offers were meager, but the coaches saw his potential and you know the rest of the story. Let the situation play out before judging everyone.

What a horrible comparison. I saw Dorsey play every game that year, most of it on an injured ankle that never got the proper rest to heal. Have no idea where you get that he didn't play with the same motor he had at LSU.
It is good to realize, however, that people not knowing what the hell they're talking about is not a new thing on here.

Haha dude please...I played against him for 2 years so I may know more than you give me credit for. Ask anyone who played against him and they will tell you he was a good player but no one would have imagined he would have turned into the dominant force he was at LSU. I've talked about this with a few people who have played against him and they all agree, so nice observations that whole season bro

They cant always get the superstars that will play as a freshman. He may not be impressive enough to make an impact next year but maybe 3 years from now he will be a good lineman in the sec. Many kids have to be developed over several years

No... YOU THOUGHT WRONG....Drake was a Rivlas top 100 player and had 15 sacks his Sr. yr at John Ehret.

You played against him every game for two seasons?
Didn't think so. I know a little about what I'm watching, having Coached for 20 years. Because you and a few others couldn't accomplish what he did, you decide he wasn't that good in HS? I can assure you, everyone in Ascension Parish and every Coach that coached against him knew LSU was getting a great player.
