I'm glad that's over. I'm taping tomorrow night so I can skip the commercials. This was too hard to watch.

So, Don Philip came out on the XFactor stage, but it was edited out.

Yeah, I felt like Don Phillip could have had a good voice under his emotional baggage he was carrying. I was telling my wife that, "I think he might be good but he seems to be emotionally messed up or something and its making him sound worse than I think he is."

We just assumed that he got mixed up in drugs and that it screwed him up mentally and also screwed up his career.

I searched right after his performance on who he was and found the same article about him being gay

I thought the same as you and your wife. The real story caught me by surprise.

You have actually suggested it to me on here before. I may try to watch it when I have time. I was just messing around.

Bee, be glad you taped because this show was long with a ton of filler, most of which was not interesting. I watched my tape of The Voice afterwards. Much more entertaining, but it was only an hour show, last night.

At this rate, though, it's going to be a very long time before XFactor gets through the auditions. The same with The Voice since the team number increased, but it moves faster or it seems to.

Yeah, from reading the comments in this thread, looks like way more talking and stories than singing. I'll probably burn through it quick.

Just finished watching last night's.

The Rihanna look a like that started the show was not that good. Im not saying that she wasn't talented but she was just okay.

The bieber kid sounded horrible with the first song. But I liked him when he sang "grenade".

Don Phillip has a singing voice but it is just not my style. He over sang too much.

The boy band group that did the original song actually sounded pretty good. I was expecting that to be terrible. I just don't know how I feel about "groups" on these singing competitions.

The little Spanish girl was okay. She has a big voice but I think they overrated her performance.

Now the last girl was very interesting. Im pretty sure people can go either way with how they feel about her. I actually enjoyed that performance. I do not think her voice is the best but she sang with feeling. I can do without all the drama and crying afterwards with everyone because that got to be a little much and drawn out. But i thought she was pretty good.

Overall from that first episode I was pretty impressed with the judges. I thought Britney and Demi both were really good. Simon was funny as always. I'm not that much of an LA Reid fan though.
I wish they would have less talking and show more of the auditions.

By the way you and Macintosh were drooling, I had high hopes and expected to see a pretty girl.
