Obviously the PI is on there, but I don't remember any of us noticing the ball spot on the fourth down. Interesting.

Line of scrimmage was the 25. Look at the blue line in the video. Just about every play the center moves the ball back when they get set. Deadspin trying to create issues. Overall, the refs did a decent job. That wasn't PI in the end zone but every game refs make mistakes like that.

More PI calls this weekend than the last two opening weekends combined.

Blue line isn't official.

This.
I do want to know why there wasn't a penalty when they ran into morested in the endzone.

That was the only headscratcher for me too.

As a whole though, only an average of 1 more penalty called per game.
There were more PI's called yesterday than the past 2 opening weekends combined. There were 25 called yesterday. That's an average of 2 per game played. Pass interference could be called on every pass play.

The guy could have been blocked into morestead which would be fine, but the broadcast didn't even acknowledge it or show a replay which bothered me.

It's damn close. They say that every time they bring the chains out and 99.9% of the time it's right. I'm just using that so people can see about where the line of scrimmage is. The video starts with the center set, not when he walks to the line.

Our game had some head scratchers, but some of the other games I watched were ridiculous. The missed false starts I saw were glaringly obvious. I don't read Deadspin (got that link off Facebook), but if you watch some of those videos it's not like they're making shite up. One thing the refs really need to work on is learning what pass interference is. Loads of good defensive plays got called through preseason and yesterday.

PI being a spot foul in the NFL it's one of the most important calls in the game. You damn sure better get it right.

No it can't.

I don't think they are, but they could probably do a similar story every week with the regular officials. I haven't been a fan of the replacements either, but some people are trying to be overly critical.

I've already seen the bengals get fricked 3 times in this MNF game.
Green caught that ball, contrary to what they said.
The spot on the next play was 2 yards back from forward progress and cost them a first down.
Bolden didn't have control of that td

not a big deal, no game changers

Umm the first two stopped a bengals drive and the second one gave a touchdown that wasn't to the ravens.. Potential 11 point swing (7-10 instead of 3-17)

Yeah, you're right. I think some people have forgotten how much we complain about the normal refs, though through this scab experience, they are a lot better than I gave them credit for.

If you ever want to bitch about any refs but not include Ed Hochuli, then you are doing it wrong.

I just don't know why the NFL is locking out the officials for 45 million dollars.. 9 billion in revenue. 45 million is not that much

One of the worst ones that I saw on Sunday was in the Arizona-Seattle game. Somehow, they lost track of how many timeouts Seattle had and missed taking one from them due to an injury during the last 2 minutes of a half.
