And I'm not reading this whole thread but who do we have available on the call up squad in the midfield that can actually hold possession tomorrow night?
Torres can. He isn't as talented as Bradley but he can do things we need: ball retention, quick and smart passing, adds creativity, and is good on set pieces.

I like Torres more than most but we usually play him out wide correct? Could we slot him in at a CAM?

His best position is Center Mid. We have been playing him and others out of position. We have almost no one to play in wide areas for us.

I would rather us throw Shea out there and hope for the best than force Edu or Jones or Williams to play wide because that is not going to work

On a side note did anyone else find that BeIn broadcast to be awful?

Given the players we have healthy right now, I'd rather see Dempsey-Beckerman-Feilhaber/Kljestan/Torres(?...pick one)-Shea in the midfield, with Altidore and Gomez up top.

Actually, I'd prefer to see Beasley on the left, Dempsey on the right and (gulp) Eddie Johnson in the place of Gomez.

My ideal lineup would be a 4-3-3
xxxxxxxxxxHowardxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
DoloxxCameronxxBocaxxJohnson

xxxxxxxxxxxx
Eduxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
xxxxxxBradleyxxxTorresxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

DonavonxxxAltidorexxxDempseyxxx

Dempsey loves to cut in and that's where Johnson will add some width.

I like that but I'm guessing Bradley and Donovan will still be out tomorrow correct?

Correct. Neither of them were even called.

I think this is the best lineup with the current squad for tonight:

------------- gomez ---------------
shea ------ demps ------ williams
------ torres --------- jones -------
johnson - boca - cameron - dolo
------------ howard -------------

Line-up is geared for speed on the wings.

Can the US win by more than 1.5 goals?

Sure.

Don't make that bet, though.

Williams has proven he is just generally terrible on the wing.

Now take your lineup and put Williams where Torres is and Deuce where Williams is and I could live with it.
