We will have adequate replacements chomping at the bit to show their stuff to replace Faulk.

Ditto the replacements last week in place of Mathieu and Jones:
Collins, Mills, Martin, Eugene, Muncie, Jones, Louis, Feist, Alexander. And some kid named Beckham returning kicks......

11-2 = no BCS no SEC = throwing in the towel

that is fricking ridiculous....shows the intelligence of some of you. I want a NC, but a fricking 11 win season is a damn good season....I swear to god, some of you kids are absolutely clueless. You guys are going to learn the hard way about LSU football one of these days, I just hope it isn't anytime soon.

Other teams on LSU's schedule will lose players to injuries also. Doesn't just happen to LSU.

Of course it doesn't...but these aren't just any players...these are arguably the best on offense and defense....or right at the top. Just blows my mind that you guys think losing key players like these mean nothing.....I guess with age comes wisdom. Fwiw, I did think we could make it without TM...especially with OBJ returning punts now.....but the loss of Faulk is huge, imo. Hurst hasn't exactly lit the world on fire.

Yep, nothing is a given and a few people hurt, suspended, and a few bad breaks and there goes the Championship... It's tough to get to the game much less win it that is why last year's no show for the NC game was so frustrating.

Lot of these kids don't get just how difficult it is....they have become fans during this span where we win a championship in 2007...then play for another in 2011.....it is fricking hard....ask most other schools, including bama....they went 17 years without one...you got to be at your best, and then have a few breaks...generally....

Oh well we still undefeated at this point so

Not giving up at all.....and hoping like hell we can still pull it out...but I've always been the realist...and these losses hurt us more than people realize.....it's funny......some on here calling an 11 win season "throwing in the towel". Let's you know real fast how dumb our fanbase is.

I really thought LSU had the team to win the championship this year, and while I still am not throwing in the towel, I realize it is going to be exceedingly more difficult with the injuries/suspensions. Not trying to sound like gloom and doom, but without those guys, 11-2 is much more likely...and I hope like hell I am wrong....now....

I think your are spot on if this happens after the first game with this years team being exactly the same IF we had had a schedule like last year. I think it would have been very tough to overcome the tough breaks we have had so far. However, with this seasons schedule, I still feel like we have the team and depth to overcome the suspensions and injuries. USCe does not scare me that much and Florida and Auburn look fairly weak and vulnerable at this point. The schedule sets up nicely in the fact that we have time to gel as a team down the stretch so that by the time Bama and Arky games and then hopefully SEC Champ we will be running on all cylinders. Don't lose the hope yet VC, 2012 can still be our year.

One game into the season. Hard to tell what impact either player will have. No reason to think we can't overcome these injuries.

Most definitely haven't lost it...and I agree about florida, SC, and auburn....I hope like hell we can pull it off. Problem is that depth took a shot with him going down, and I'm hearing JD is not 100% himself. We really can't afford anymore injuries though in the DB or the OL....and there lies the problem.....Just being realistic.......I'm problem the minority here, but I'd just as soon plug collins in at LT and let him go.....and JD at LG.

Hey kid...I haven't seen a thread discussing exactly how the rotation will go on the OL now....as for the "just so people will talk to him"....some of us actually have real jobs and real lives, and that kind of meaningless bs is for you kids.

sure we overcome them....but losing two pre-season all-americans is NOT MEH. We will still be good....but we were special...will the replacements be special? hope so? likely not as much.
