Have Remington and ruger both are fine. Everyone on here will tell to to buy 2000k guns and 1000 scopes etc. becuase we are all millionaires and can buy the best of everything. Lol yes they are better and so it my Rolex over my seiko watch but they both keep great time and one is 7000 cheaper.
It is a kids gun they will use for 3 to 5 years max. Hell go to academy and let him pick it out. Better to spend more on scope as you can flip that to his next gun.

Bought the Rossi combo for my kids... 22/243/410
Overall I have zero gun/function issues daughter killed her fight buck with this gun. With that said it is pretty cheaply made and the plastic on the gun makes it light weight. I wish I would have spent the money on a real youth rifle with a nice wood stock. I think the 243 kicks as hard as my Remington 700 in .270.
