I'll most likely be at that show. Y'all better introduce yourselves.

Boogie,
Do you work with RRB on tour or just know them personally and go to a lot of their shows? Just curious...either way, sounds like a pretty nice deal!

I am EXTREMELY close with Randy's tour manager. Through him, I've gotten to know Randy and Brady (fiddle) really well. They hook me up with as many all-access passes as I want, so anytime they play close by (and sometimes even if they don't, if I'm feeling like a roadtrip) I make it a point to support them. Great guys.
And of course, the scene is pretty close knit, so I've gotten pretty tight with a lot of the other bands and their crews as well...Reckless, Wade, Turnpike, etc. It's a pretty sweet deal, I haven't bought tickets to a TX country show in at least 3 years

I wish Roger Creager would play with RRB in Baton Rouge instead of playing at Tipitina's the same night. I'm going to lauberge

Wow that's awesome. I'm pretty jealous! They seem like pretty fun guys, and I could watch Brady play the fiddle all night
I'll be seeing them for the third time at L'Auberge and I'm pretty excited!! Hopefully they have a nice set up since it's apparently an outdoor concert.
I've caught a few Texas country acts that pass through BR but it hasn't been much unfortunately. I may have to wander over to TX a few weekends this year and go see some shows I've been eyeing or maybe just knock it out in Steamboat Springs all at once if I can make the trip.

As far as I know, Steamboat is already completely sold out. You can come to the Austin area any random Thursday-Sunday, though, and find plenty of shows both in town and within a 1 to 1 1/2 hour radius. And of course, festival season is August-October so you can always make one of those and see multiple artists in the same day or two.

i swear im gonna make steamboat one year.. til then i try to catch shows here lol... tryin to make some group of the same type. as Joey and The Jumper Cables is about all we got.

I've actually never been to Steamboat either...just couldn't ever swing it. I'm trying to get hooked up with a pass but I have no idea who has an extra so we'll see what happens. I'll make it there someday, dammit
I haven't lived in Baton Rouge for a long time but I remember how frustrating the lack of original music was...of any genre. At what point does a band stop and say, "you know what? There are enough cover bands in this town, let's try writing our own shite for once"?

L Boogie, Turnpike Troubadours in Baton Rouge, when is it happening?
The more I listen to them the more I like them. And I've been listening to them a lot lately.

Aren't they great? :)
Not in the immediate future...it really has to do with being booked. If a venue wants them and is willing to agree to their terms in payment/rider/etc, they would play. The only problem I can see is that they don't have the same following there as they do in TX, OK and other red-dirt-friendly states. The promoter may or may not lose his arse by booking them and it may not be worth it if ticket sales suck.

Diamonds and Gasoline is, imo, the best country album in the past several years. I've worn that CD the hell out.

i can agree with this.
Baton Rouge does have some good TX country acts coming this semester (RRB, Cody Canada, Casey Donahew, REK, Josh Abbott Band, etc.)

Douche.
Where/when is Reckless playing? That will be a great show. I'm going to see Willy and Cody play acoustic on Thursday

50 people max at any of those shows. Unfortunate.
Baton Rouge needs a real country music venue.

that's Robert Earl Keen, I don't think Reckless is coming soon
