WE don't need to see a "vertical passing game"

I have read this for the last 16 hours and it's just bogus. WE, as fans, don't need to see anything. If the coaches like where are passing game is, then that is all that matters. Plus, you fools throw this phrase around and fail to realize what the hell it means. How many posts and go routes do you think we should actually run??? We ran a few and connected on a few. That offense last night was as balanced as we've been in a long time. If we stuck to running the ball, we could have rushed for 500 yards pretty comfortably, but you idiots feel entitled to see a "vertical" threat, even if it's forced. frick what is actually working.

For some perspective, Bama was 11/21 last night, yet the Rant is sucking them off as if we have no shot. Give me a break! The Rant throws around the term "vertical passing game" about as loosely as weathermen explain their mistakes with "dry air".

this is basically a preseason game

rushing for 500 yards with the same 5 rushing plays does nothing for our team

these are games where our team is supposed to work out kinks in the areas where we suck, like, the deep passing game

we're not going to win a title without an advanced passing game. when do you think we'll get game time to practice it?

Michigan and their vaunted defense. 11/21 is an amazingly good number

Dude Michigan fricking blows. Period.

Gues what numnuts. They opened their season against a ranked opponent in Dallas Stadium.

You are telling me LSU doesn't go into Dallas and win against Michigan who literally relies on 1 fricking player.. 41-14 as well?

LSU beats Michigan every bit as bad and everyone is slobbering all over their jock..

Get real about it. LSU DID WHAT THEY NEEDED TO DO. They won 41-14 coming off a limited and distracting week of a hurricane. LSU wasn't going to run shite up any ways.. and Mettenberger did miss some action.

Think about it.

they were 17th in the NCAA last year

but they're no North Texas, who was 97th last year in the road grating sun belt

If you watched the national championship and say everyone should just trust the coaches and what offense they want, then I don't know what to say to you.

+10000

The sky isn't falling..at all....but slackster is clueless. I wonder how he thinks the lack of a vertical passing game worked out for us last January. With that said, we showed signs of one...and the ability...we will get better. My biggest concern is safety (believe it or not) and the guys in the middle.....I was disappointed to see North Texas basically run it down our throats for the second touchdown.

Exactly. I saw Mett shred a far better lsu defense with downfield passes in the spring game. They know what they're doing.

Haha. I would be ok with this statement, but I know full well that if we took more shots down field last night, and Mett would have gotten hurt or if they were ineffective, the threads bit hint about us forcing the passing game and not sticking with what was working would be rampant. What team in the country used their opening game against an FBS school to "practice" anyways?

I didn't see USC practicing against Hawaii. They ran the same offense they will run against everyone all season. But if LSU is highly effective and efficient against NT, people come out of the wood works to bitch. Face it, the people bitching today would have found something to bitch about regardless of how the game went.

Did we all watch the same game?? There was more of a vertical passing game than we have seen in 4 years.
