Is this supposed to be an easy win for you guys?

Old timers are thinking 1-2 TD victory at best because the tough rivalry they remember. Books opened at -38pts. I jumped on Lamar and moved the line down to +36.5.

I'm hoping HUD pulls starters when they get up as this game is insignificant in the big picture. Lamar always plays ULL tough, but the Cajuns should breeze through this one. Lamar might hang for 1 quarter. Lamar RB is an osu transfer and can cause a lot of trouble.

Not sure. I'm assuming it was fairly recent cause I don't remember them being on the schedule when it came out a few months ago.

They were definitely the last team we scheduled. But they were on the schedule when the official one released.

What's sad is, it was 40-0 at halftime. We just ran the ball the whole 2nd half with a bunch of our second stringers. The score could've been much, much worse. Oh and our offense didn't look all that awesome either. Still, it was nice to finally be on the other side of one of these blowouts. This team still has a bunch of questions but I expect them to get it together quick and play very well this season.

well i am sure it's nice to be starting out with a win, instead of being a rent a win to start off. I am sure the Cajuns will do well this year.

Gauthier has to find some touch on his passes. He missed way too many easy completions to wide open receivers.

This.

The Cajuns had 4 first half fgs on drives that would have been touchdowns if Gautier has been a little more relaxed and hit open receivers. He'll be fine though. He was way hyped tonight

That's what I'm hoping. I'm still a little worried though, as I don't think we learned much about this team tonight, specifically how they handle adversity.

Completely agree. Gauthier can really zip it in there but his deep passes are not very accurate. He has very little touch in those deep throws. He had this problem last year as well. However last year the WRs made excellent route adjustments to make the catch. Some of it was probably pre-game jitters but this isnt a new issue with him. If Gauthier can improve in this area our offense will be very hard to stop.

I learned very little about our defense because Lamar's offense sucked so bad. But I did learn that the offense needs to get it together fast. They did not look very good. You could tell our offense can be very good but it just looked like they weren't quite there yet. Most of our drives seemed to end in a FG attempt (btw Baer is still a beast). But this team has a history of starting off the season slow. I have no doubt they will improve on offense and get it together on defense.
