to really air it out and beat UNT by 50 or so, or hold off and just use it as an evening scrimmage? Does beating a tune-up team by 50 establish dominance? send an early message to the rest of the SEC? I do not know - what would you do?

I think our guys practice against a MUCH tougher defense on a daily basis when they scrimmage.

I'd use this game to work on anything that hasn't been going as smoothly as it should in practice. If Mett has been having trouble on timing routes, I'd pratice those. If linemen have been having trouble on read blocks, I'd work on that.

We won't have to "really" air it out to beat unt by 50

IF it is Bolden/Rivers/Randall for all of the second half, I'm fine with beating them 52-3, or whatever. Les is unlikely to do that - he normally gets to 35 or 42, then calls off the dogs and shortens the game (and we sometimes score just pounding the ball, at that point).

beating any team by 50 is making a statement to the team you beat, the media and anybody else on your schedule that you are legit. more importantly, it shows that you have a squad that understands the importance of playing to "it's level"....not the oppositions.

the SEC doesn't care about messages....they only care about game day and trying to kick our arse.

I think there is a way to establish dominance...i think going with a game plan and not showing much and still blow them out is a good way...airing it out and making it look like we are purposely tryin to blow them out really shows our weakness
