That's almost a word for word quote from Coach K on Mike and Mike this morning.
Coach K is drunk on gold right now. All Star is essentially a top 4 in the league designation. LeBron is not the 4th best player at every position.

Sounds like a bunch of young bucks in here who didn't grow up watching Jordan. The guy was a relentless competitor like no other. One example - he used the Dream Team in '92 to study the other players and learn their weaknesses to exploit them later. He might have acted friendly but he was using the Olympics to his personal advantage. He had a drive that permeated the team and made everyone better. And he did it in an era of hand checking and true hard fouls, before the rules were changed to help increase scoring. He may have been a complete a-hole too but he was consistently respected and feared for years.
Relative to that, Lebron has played a small handful of games where he has looked like a superstar. And he has one ring. One. He is gifted and is the best player in the league now. He might fall off by 2015; you never know. People like to live in the moment now and lose perspective. Let him play at an elite, nonstop competitive level where he wins scoring titles, defensive first teams, and NBA titles damn near every year until 2020, and then we'll talk. For now, Lebron has the potential, but he is not close to surpassing MJ.
Besides, after Kobe, Nash, Howard, and Gasol win it all next June, the talk will inevitably switch to whether Kobe is the GOAT. And they'll still be wrong.
