Definitely think Tyrion killing Shae and Tywin will be shocking to the Hodors, especially since show Shae is so whitewashed. Oh and Ygritte dying .
Shae's death is really going to be the surprise. The show has really focused on their relationship.
When I started reading the books, I made the mistake of searching the internet and immediately stumbled upon how Tyrion kills Tywin (I was pissed). I stopped GOT internet reading until I finished the series after that. While I was very disappointed that I couldn't be surprised by Tywin's death, Shae's really surprised me.

If Shae is killed differently I'll be pissed.
Agreed.
First of all, that "hands of gold" line is awesome.
2nd, his physical overpowering is important metaphorically for the breaking of Tyrion's character and shattering society's perceived limitations of his physcality.
Also, I can hear it now,
Hodors: "How is the Hound fighting Oberyn, but also on the countryside with Arya?"
Book readers: "This is the 3rd (4th?) Gregor Clegane! Ugh! Why can't they cast just one person for the role!?
Additionally, so psyched for the Jamie/Bronn exchanges. My ideal situation for one liners would be the complete fantasy scenario where Tyrion, Jon Snow, Jamie, Reek, Bronn, and Stannis get to have some sort of negotiation.
