The whole Ashara Dayne mystery confuses me. Some say that Ned had a crush on her/had the secks with her, others say it was Brandon Stark instead, now people are saying Aerys?
I do wonder if Selmy is a reliable narrator. I know George has said that Sansa isn't a reliable narrator, so I wonder if Selmy is the same case.

I just can't buy into Ned not being loyal. It goes against the fabric of everything I believe about the guy and that his loyalty/honesty flat out got him killed. Now do I think Ned had a crush on her before his brother died and he was betrothed to Catelyn? Sure.

I think he is for the most part. But when it comes to someone he loved I can see where his opinion of whomever she shacked up with could be incredibly tainted.
