I think there was a Westerling/Lannister (moon tea) conspiracy in the book but I don't think Jeyne was complicit in it because she was really in love with Robb Stark.
In my re-read I came across a very interesting passage. When Tywin tells Tyrion that Robb has married Jeyne Westerling, and Tyrion is incredulous. He makes a comment along the lines of: "Could the Westerlings and Spicers be such fools to believe the Wolf can defeat the Lion?"
To which Tywin responds (with a slight smile): "The greatest fools are offtimes more clever than the men who laugh at them".
Certainly seems to imply that (at least) Gawen Westerling was part of the plot.
To me, the importance of that whole thing is to show that you'd better have more than just an army to take down Tywin Lannister. He is a master of political maneuverings.

Yep, it's also sort of confirmed in AFFC when Jaime is meeting with the mother and discussing the "understanding" Jeyne's mother and Tywin had.
But I'm pretty sure Jeyne had no clue, just the mom. The mother discusses on of her sons getting caught at the red wedding, and that the son had no idea about the understanding with Tywin.

Or, you could just catch him on the toilet.
