Or Benjen being Daario .

I don't believe that one at all.
BUT I will say I don't really think it's ridiculous as some people think it is. The blue hair says to me that he is incognito. As who? I don't really know. It was also interesting that the show recast Daario with a guy that looked an awful lot alike the guy who played Benjen

The Varys being a woman and Illyrio's wife and Aegons mother is still the funniest theory I've ever read about. And the OP of the thread was dead serious about it being true too

That's from a while ago . We really need this thread categorized into dates.

I'm trying to catch up, lady!
Btw, y'all see the articles re: GRRM confirming that some readers have gotten the ending of ASOIAF correct and that he won't change it?
I haven't read the pages directly before this, I'm currently on pg 837

Another brick in the R+L=J theory, and I'm sure that this has probably been mentioned somewhere already, but caught the piece on the reread of Ser Barristan when he says that after Aegon, Elia was too frail to have any more children. Pair that with Dany's vision of Rhaegar in the house of the undying saying that there must be another, the dragon has three heads, plus the fact that Targs were known to take more than one spouse, and I think that Rhaegar and Lyanna were not only wed, but I think they had Elia's consent. Again, the theory itself isn't new, but it adds a little more to the argument and is significant because most (like the article that was posted about Martin confirming theories being correct) assume that Jon would still be a bastard. I believe he's a full-fledged legit Targ.

I've had a pretty interesting hypothetical internal debate the last day or two. So I'll bring it here and let y'all debate it with me.
What would've happened had Robert found out that Jon was actually a Targaryen?
Would it have come to war between the House Stark and the House Baratheon?
Where would House Arryn have placed their allegiance?
Who would win?
Maybe Robert would've listened to Ned and see reason once Ned explained everything to him. However Robert had been itching for a war ever since he won his crown would that itch lead him to wage war on his only friend?
I can't see Ned marching south in this situation. All he would have to do is hide Jon (maybe on the wall with his Uncle Benjen), call his banners and defend moat cailin and White Harbor and let the natural defences of the north do his work for him.
As brilliant of a military mind as Robert was did the crown have the resources, even with the powers of the lannisters at its back, to successfully invade the north?
House Tyrell seems to be one of the keys in this hypothetical. The stayed loyal to the targs throughout the entirety of The War of The Usurper. Would that loyalty extend to Jon?
Would Dorne, another key piece of this puzzle, welcome the son of Rhaegar or would Doran and the Red Viper take his existence as an affront to Elia's memory?
If Dorne and Highgarden reignite their loyalties to the targaryen's then Robert would quickly find himself fighting a war on 3 fronts against 3 major houses with lots of banners.
Anyway.... Discuss.

Hard to say but it would've been a huge mess. IMO Robert would be defeated by Ned.

Anyone else here listen to Radio Westeros? Pretty good podcast that discusses a different character each episode, has book readings, and focuses on a lot of back story and theories.
It's only three episodes in (Arya, Sansa, and Melisandre) and I've enjoyed it so far.

Robert loved Lyanna so much, too though. Would he try to kill her son, even he was a Targ?
