I've been wanting to get in on this thread for a while now but I wanted to wait until I finished the series. And now I finally have!!! So I'm ready to get in on the action. I've only got 400-something pages to catch up on but I just wanted to introduce myself to the thread.
Also I wanted to mention a theory of mine. Have any of y'all considered that Jon might not be Ned's bastard after all? My theory is that he is actually Ned's nephew. I think he is Raegar Targarian and Lyanna Stark's son. What do y'all think?

This theory has been discussed the most out of all the Crackpot theories and is the most popular theory.

Yea I was just messing with y'all about my "theory". The rest of the stuff was true. I did just finish the series and I'm trying to get through this thread. I'm on page 183 so I should be through it in another week or two.

Any chance my boy Syrio Forel is still alive? Im hoping Arya will walk into a bar in Braavos and Syrio will be there like "surprise bitch, i aint dead."

Syrio Forel=Jaqen H'ghar=Alchemist=Pate

Not sure that I would say that Syrio is Jaqen but I think the other 3 being linked is very plausible. And I do think that Syrio is still alive.

just my crackpot theory & it would explain why Jaqen was in the dungeons in the Red Keep

that's true. I just find it odd that he wouldn't reveal himself to Arya on the road somewhere. Syrio seemed found of her and it just seems that he would have actively recruited her.

Do you think she still would have gone to Braavos had she not met Syrio?

I don't they are faceless men.
And all that 'What do you say to death'?

I think Jaqen is the Alchemist and Pate, but not Syrio. Although Syrio himself being a Faceless Man isn't out of the question. But Jaqen and Syrio are different individuals IMO.

Isn't the Crackpot theory with the Faceless Men is that they caused the Doom of Valyria and used Hardhome as a sort of test grounds for it? Also, maybe Jaqen is at the Citadel to learn about dragons and get rid of Dany's...I know with most maesters that magic is frowned upon, except Maester Luwin who had a link from it and Qyburn knows some magic but he was, of course, stripped of his chain/Maester title.

And that Maester Sam met with Alleras the sphinx when he first gets to Oldtown, he was into magic.

Jon also sent Sam to Oldtown to learn lessons from Gilly on the Cinnamon Wind loveeee boat.

Didnt they bang with Maester Aemon dying in the bed next to them? Kinky.

I think Aemon was already dead when they shagged.
The crew (Summer Isles folk) traditionally frick in the event of death. Life for death kind of thing.
They basically told Sam he was going to frick Gilly or get tossed off the boat

At least they had a babysitter so they could get some private time. As Gilly said, there's no trees or WeirBrans watching them so they were good to go.

It would come full circle-
It was Daenerys 'forgot nickname' who knew about the Doom & convinced the Targaryens to take dragon eggs & flee to Dragonstone.
Then many generations later the mother of Dragons, Daenerys 'Stormborn' is born @ Dragonstone.
