Unfortunately, no matter what is said because of the results of 1/9, it seems like it was justified and makes LSU fans look whiny. I don't wont got here, but I think there are two points to be made regarding the situation that stick in the craw of LSU fans.

1. Allowing Alabama a mulligan was historically significant in the BCS era and even going back to the 1950's. Yes, non-conf and even non-division champs have gone to a championship game, but not conference rematches, especially when there was a conf champ from a statistically superior conference (says Sagaran and others) not in the game. That act defied protocol and precedent.

Let's be honest, Alabama was a great team. Beating them at home should have been enough and historically has always been enough under those circumstances. It's completely deflating to essentially have the rules flipped and be told what you did was of no consequence. You passed the BAR? Awesome. Now take it again in 3 months, fricker.

Plus, most get the feeling that had the roles been reversed, LSU would not have been given the mulligan, and had it been UT or OU instead of OSU, the mulligan would have been denied as well for Alabama.

2. It's annoying that Alabama fans don't recognize this in general. Both leading up to and after the game it was the entitlement/lack of understanding of this fact. As a base of comparison, LSU fans knew we were fortunate in '07 but could also justify our participation.

Anway, whatever. GFY Gump.
