Your anticipation of 2012 defense as far as scheme is incorrect. Yes, the defense will be playing more zone concepts, just as they did under Gibbs but the concepts by the front 7 will be TOTALLY different.
Spags will still be aggressive but calculated as well. Williams on the other hand was wreckless. The zone blitzing schemes Spags is implementing alone will help in causing confusion for opposing offensive lineman & QB's as well. That confusion will lead to more mistakes & more turnovers for the defense.
Throw in the fact that more talent was brought in on defense this offseason in Bunkley, Hawthorne, Chamberlain & Lofton then you would realize that defense has no choice but to be better then previous years.
