First time visiting. The boudin balls, etouffee-topped blackened catfish and the shrimp-and-grits were all excellent. Nothing was bland, nor was it over-seasoned. Perfectly cooked, perfect mix of flavors.

Only quibble is with portion for the price. Not a ton of food. Could have ordered a la carte sides but that would have pushed the prices to the Flemings' range, and it's not quite at that level.

All in all, it's a pretty damn strong place. I'll be back for their fried chicken and shrimp creole lunch specials, for sure.

Has been the main issue with many including myself since their opening. If you are not a 150lb mini-mealer, you better split some extra apps or additional entree.

Flemings is apparently the Johnny's pizza of Baton Rouge.
