if miles doesn't slack off and stays at LSU another 7 or 8 yrs, he will become legendary.

This while being the ONLY team that played the other THREE dominant programs in the league during that time, (Florida, Alabama and Auburn) EVERY YEAR

Don't forget that Alabama and Nick Saban get a cakewalk with Tennessee every year!

Mile's record at LSU is at least as impressive as Saban's at Alabama. Saban does have two BCSNC titles....three if you count the one at LSU. Gotta give him that!

Miles lost 9 of his 17 games with virtually no experienced QB! He also managed to go 24 and 3, over the last two years, with shaky play at QB. Has he not won two of the last three against Bama with that same shaky QB situation?

I pray that Mettenberger has a solid year!!

Dan Mullen at Mississippi State would need to go 54-1 to equal Les Miles record at LSU.

He is one of the best coaches in college football

If you throw out
Tenn. 05 player (not adjusting/katrina)
Auburn 06 (not allowing JR to air it out)
Ole Miss 09 (clock jefferson and miles fault)
Bama NC (bad coaching /Bama momentum plus tornado emotion)_

Without those outcomes he's the best coach in college.

Only two losses were "fluky" so far during his tenure to me and those were imho: Tennessee 2005 and Penn State. And I think they even out over time with games you might not should have won.

See, that's the beauty of having a big body of work to evaluate, and multiple recruiting classes, you can spot the trends and patterns and the flukes and mistakes and you can see exactly what you have. Unlike we when had our first taste of adversity in 2008 and it seemed half the State of Louisiana wanted to hang ol Les.Now people have some more evidence to evaluate and people are able to see the totality of the man.
