That is blunt... but I do agree just the experience is a benefit that no other rookie will ever get

But ask Krzyzewski what role Davis will have as the U.S. makes its way to London to defend its gold medal, and the answer is blunt: None whatsoever.

it's pretty expected. 12 man team made of NBA superstars. i get that he will gain a lot of valuable experience working alongside these guys, but this is why i'd rather him playing summer league ball. he'd, you know, actually be playing.

Ouch.
All you can really hope for is that he gets to see the work ethic that guys like Kobe have. And I actually think practicing against guys like LeBron and Chandler may be better than playing against a bunch of other rookies. And I'm sure he'll get some time in. You really can't expect a rookie to get too much PT with those guys.

they do plenty of practicing and scrimmaging. He will get a lot more out of this then he would playing against mostly scrubs in summer league

Hmm, funny, I was just reading this article that said he could eventually see some meaningful playing time for defensive/shot-blocking purposes.

I call bullshite. What is coach K going to do use 2 bigs all game and that is it. He will need AD down low.

Its possible. If games are close he probably wont play A LOT just because of his inexperience.

Yeah that's exactly what he's going to do. If you watched the Brazil game, you saw that Melo and Durant were playing C during stretches of the game and Iggy and Lebron were rotating at PF. Only team that I think size will be a factor is Spain.

"Hey Anthony, how many minutes are you playing tonight?"

I hope chandler gets injured.

lets see what happens when Chandler gets into early foul trouble against Spain

Being on Team USA is far and away the best scenario for him right now. He does not need to be playing Summer League ball. He just finished highschool (where he was the best player on the court every game) and one year of college (where he was the best player on the court for about 97% of the games, if not 100%).
He needs a "reality check." I say reality check simply for lack of a better way to say it. I do not mean it the negative way it is often used. If he went to Summer League, he would still be in that I-am-the-best-player-here mode. Then once he hits his first actual NBA game against NBA players he will hit that learning curve/wall and have to adjust. By practicing against the best of teh best now, he is hitting that wall now (see the CP# shot fake gif that absolutely had AD fooled.) He wouldn't get that in Summer League, and would first experience it in an actual NBA game that matters for the first time. Now he is seeing it in practice, where it doesn't matter, so he will be ready for it come game 1 with the Hornets.
