A lot of people said he was the second coming of Baggio in his early days... His coming out party was CL three years ago when he scored a couple against LFC to knock us out of the group stages and then scored 2 against Bayern in the knock out rounds to beat them 3-2 (lost overall on away goals)... he primarily played as a LW...
then he was out a year when he blew out his knee...
Last year they started to ask him to play through the middle more and this has continued on through this year... I think he is a hybrid CAM/Second Striker... Although he can lead the line..
I think he is another player on the verge of being a superstar given a bigger stage.. He's been very loyal to Fiorentina in the past, but I think he will be allowed to leave this summer with no CL... They currently sit in 5th..

so he sounds like he might be similar to tommy fussball, which is a great thing. when tommy plays in the middle he's a hybrid cam/ss and even when he's on the wing he might as well be a hybrid cam/ss 
but LW is good because ribery cant play forever and RW is pretty good with robben, muller, shaqiri.
