Best Place to buy a Glock19?

Decided to go with the Glock 19; Academy is selling them for $529- what reputable places online sell for less?
I was considering going with a used one, but since they are going for 400-450 used, I decided to just pay the extra 50-100 and get a new one.

If you buy one online you will have to pay for the FFL transfer which will probably put right back at retail.

Best bang for the dollar. Liked the sig a lot but I am not about to spend that much on a gun that I will rarely ever use.
Personal Defense is what it is for. I don't shoot for sport so the only time I shoot this gun is at the range to maintain my level of comfort with it.

did you look at the smith & wess M&P? ergonomically i think they are better than a glock

Get a glock 23. You can buy a Lone Wolf barrel for it in 9mm and then all you have to do to switch from .40 to 9mm is field strip the gun and swap the barrel out. That way, you can put the 9mm barrel in for cheaper practice shooting, and put the .40 barrel in when it's in defense mode for a bigger round. It's like having 2 guns in one.
This is coming from someone that is not a big fan of Glocks, but I love the idea of it.

I did take a look at a S&W. The glock just felt a little better to me

Yes sir. All you need is the barrel and the Glock 19 mags and you're good to go.

And another set of dies if you reload.

I doubt you would find anywhere that is cheaper than Academy. They don't carry a lot of different guns, but the ones they do are always cheaper than the next guy.

This kind of interests me but I have a few questions.
1. Do the 19 and 23 have the same dimensions/weight?
2. What would be the purpose of practicing with 9mm if you were gonna switch over to 40 in real life situations? The two different calibers will shoot differently, doesn't make any sense not to "practice how you play"
3. Is there anybody/thing that you can put down with 13 rounds of 40 that you can't put down with 15 rounds of 9mm especially with the higher rated loads.

I thought bayou shooter had dealers on the board that sold under retail. Not 100% sure.
Worth a look.
Here is one that sold a week or so ago. Pretty typical.

I guess it's "neat" to be able to do, but I don't really have any use to do so.
I'm a big fan of the 9mm and have plenty of confidence in my "under-powered" round.

Take a look at the Ruger SR9C. I have been impressed by it. It fit my hand better than the SW MP

Do people not like the Gen4 glocks because of the finger grooves? I think the Gen1's had the best grips, but I still think the glocks feel great.
