Will this FINALLY be an OFFICIAL NCAA Championship?
As we know, the NCAA has never awarded a championship trophy in D1 College Football.
It's always been the AP, ACA, BCS, etc. etc.
Official NCAA D1-AA trophies look like these:

I don't think what they've done is sufficient to make it an official NCAA championship. They would probably have to go to a 16 team playoff and include the winners of every conference.

Yeah, I hope they keep the crystal ball. It's the most beautiful and unique trophy of any championship.

I'm fairly certain the BCS still runs the playoff.

The crystal football is the American Football Coaches' Assocoation trophy and has been awarded since before the BCS began. It's not going anywhere.

I don't think so. This has to with the NCAA being in revenue stream, fair inclusion opportunity of all FBS schools and other issues. What I am trying hard to do is to find out exactly what FBS has to do to have an official (sanctioned?) championship, such as track, hoops, baseball, etc.. If any one knows it would be greatly appreciated.
