This thread really sent me down a rabbit hole yesterday evening.

Now I'm looking at seperating a chunk of cash from the bank account. Thanks all!

I'm going to add a rack (crossbar system) to my SUV to transport. What's the general weight limit for how much I'm going to want to pick up and sling up there at the end of the day assuming I buy a pedal kayak and take out the peddle drive before placing on top of rack?

I occasionally throw my Hobie Compass, which is probably one of the lightest pedal drive kayaks out, on top of a campershell with a roof rack on my leveled F250 on 35s, so that was pretty high up and it wasn't bad. I quickly learned its all about positioning yourself properly.

My native slayer propel (55lb hull) rides on my thule racks on an ARE topper for my tacoma 50% of the time. I only drive 10 minutes to work so I leave up there all week sometimes. Just in case I want to hit the lake on the way home
