When you coming through SE? Taking the ferry back to Bellingham? Riding the AK highway is a trip, an awesome adventure. Stop at Liard Hot Springs near the BC/Yukon border.

I have been all over all of the routes you will be taking. You are in for one hell of an adventure....

Best place on the Alaska Highway. Make reservations in advance at the campground or show up early, the place fills up every day in the summer.

Bring a sign for the Signpost Forest at Watson Lake.

If you have the time go up via Dawson City and the Top of the World Highway. It takes a few extra days though and the road can be pretty rough but I thought it was worth it.

Do a flight of Denali from Talkeetna. There is a coupon book for Alaska that is worth buying:

It was for us anyway. We used the 2/1 for the flight out of Talkeetna and 2/1 for a boat tour out of Seward. Both were great.

Be prepared for rain, mud, and high prices for everything. It will probably also be the best trip you'll ever take.
