Well will he take the responsibility for the players not making adjustments during the course of a series? For crying out loud, it wasn't that hard to figure out sb's pitchers pitched to the outer 3rd of the plate and we continued to try and pull the damn ball. If it's the players fault then it's his damn fault because he is the one who recruited them.

If the hitting coach position is overrated, then let's not waste money on one at all. In my opinion, it is time for the AD to give CPM a David Cutliffe ultimatum: fire your assistant coach or I will fire you all.

This team peaked half way through the SEC and regressed as it went along.

Exactly! If it's irrelevant then why are we paying a guy to be a hitting coach? I realize he does other things but that's one of his responsibilities.

I agree with PM.This hitting coach excuse is getting old and overrated! You can bet the players are not blaming their poor hitting on the coach. They are examining their own flaws.

I doubt 99% of you whiners advanced past tee ball. How many of you guys that played HS baseball had a hitting coach?
Also remember, these Tiger players have grown up playing on select teams and in summer leagues such as the Cape Cod league. They have had plenty of coaching.
Now that high schools are using the same restricted bat,it will be much easier to evaluate hitters.
