Usually looking at 4 pitches before you swing literally every at bat will result in horrible hitting.

I didn't see that as an issue at all this weekend. What I saw was us letting their pitcher get by with 7 or 8 pitches per inning because we were first pitch swinging or letting him off the hook by swinging at horrible pitches. At one point the pitcher had thrown 6 straight balls and was clearly getting anxious, the crowd was roaring and shaking him up, then the next batter comes up and hacks at the first pitch and grounds out weakly and they are out of the inning. Perhaps letting him throw a few pitches could have resulted in a wild pitch, HBP, whatever to get a rally going. So many times this weekend we had 3 balls and then swung at a pitch a foot over our head or on the ground. It's like they think taking a walk is robbing them of trying to swing for the fence. I saw no strategy at the plate or any situational adjustment in batting....Just I am going up and swing for the fence.
