. If I have to go down a dark alley, I want to go down there with him. As a matter of fact, behind him because he's a great leader … We may be looking at the best player in our generation. The media can definitely paint the picture that they want. They can vilify you or they can build you up, but that doesn't mean that's who you are. I think he has pure passion for the game. He loves the game, he's a thinker of the game, he's a student of the game, he's a historian of the game. He wants to be special. He wants to quietly leave his mark on this league and he wants to kind of do it his way … He's a reserved guy. Don't allow people to tell you that this guy is a jerk or an a-hole because he's quiet and he doesn't want to talk before games or he doesn't have this superman personality, this Dwight Howard personality.

It's out of context from Grantland today describing Rondo but I feel this is how the media is treating LeBron unfairly.

I heard that in his spare time he's working on a dissertation examining what the current NBA would be like without the early efforts of Sweetwater Clifton and Earl Lloyd during the 1950 season.

That is a Keyon Dooling quote, not a Simmons quote.

When LBJ came out and said the infamous "not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4...." he was asking for it if he didn't deliver. It was a bold move to be that cocky and it looks to be backfiring on him.

Not to mention he has choked in the playoffs 4th quarter shot to tie or win it. Definetly not the same LBJ we saw in Clevland physically or mentally.
