My vet usually gives a small pain killer like tramadol and another one but it slips my mind at the moment. Call your vet and ask for the tramadol....I know a few people who have poodles that have some sort of spine arthritis and this is what they give them. It wont take it away, but it will make them more comfortable.

Thanks for the tips, gentlemen. It just tears me up to see my boy not being able to jump in the truck anymore. I've been having to pick him up to get him in and out...
