Looks like McCarley and Tre'Davious White got MVP's yesterday.

Did anyone get a chance to go out there and see it?

quote:

Tre-davious White on McCarley, "He is a general on the field. He taught us signals five minutes before we took the field, and always had our receivers in a position to make the play. I wish I could take Sunshine back home to my team and be the quarterback."

quote:

Just received a text from John Diarse, and speaking on McCarley, " Best quarterback I ever played with."

Gonna make things interesting at camp. I think we take two QBs and one will be out of McCarley, Kincaide and Damian Williams

kid looks like a young Stafford... I mean purely in terms of looks, no clue on his ability.

Soooooo, I thought we were going to stay away from the dual threats? I'm not taking a shot at you, ipodking. Just have a feeling the "No more pocket passers" will be all over this kids jock. If he has potential bring him in not limited to, dual threats, pocket passers, black, white, hispanic, I don't care. Just bring in a solid prospect.

He's not a dual threat at the next level. Not big or fast enough.

Nice to get the MVP but McCarley is plain tiny. Probably what, 5'10-5'11 and 180?

I think what most people want to do is stay away from the zero-threat QBs.

A QB that is athletic and a strong arm, that happens to be an average runner and a poor passer is not a dual-threat QB.

I think most LSU fans want to recruit QBs that can either pass effectively or pass effectively and run effectively.

People there said white looked similar to OBJ in high school on both sides of the ball. Interesting to see him get more praise at wr than diarse and more at cb than brazil.

Amen to this.

two short, not enough stars, no good schools have offered, don't want any more dual threat QBs...

Actually, his stat line is very impressive.

2011 (Jr.) 80 rushes for 398 yards and 15 TDs and 192 pass attempts with 116 completions for a completion percentage of 60.4% for 1,912 yards. Most impressive to me is 23 passing touchdowns to only 4 interceptions.

sunnydaze, I agree with you on the white comments. he will be a very good one. its no accident that the staff offered him real early. people were saying its was due to his relationship with mo just as they said about beckham when he was offered. both are the real deal. class is better than its ranked but we need to get going in the dline.

McCarley's highlights are pretty impressive. Good pocket awareness and he has a quick release. Hope he gets an offer if he camps with LSU.

What classification does he play in, and doesn't that school have some other prospects as well? Maybe a WR?

I'm not exactly sure who is on McCarley's team in hs but he is a very well liked by other kids.

I agree with most of you guys overall. I just want a good qb that can help us win and not make us win in spite of them. Don't care what size, color or type. He could have 5* or no *. If he's good then I want him. I long for the day that I can go into a game on Saturday and trust my qb. Hopefully Mett brings that trend back this season.
