I'm not a big sushi person but from everyone I talk to they all say Cafe Zen is solid.
Most of these have already been mentioned but my go to spots on the westbank are:
O'Brien's grill for fine dining
El Mesquite-Mexican
Cafe Diblasi-Italian
Mandina's-Italian
Cafe 615/Da Wabbit-Louisiana/home cooking
Gattuso's-For beers and eye candy waitresses Food is ok
China Doll-Chinese
N.O Food & Spirits-on Lapalco near Harvey canal
Little G's- Seafood in Belle Chasse
Sunray Grill
Common Grounds-breakfast
Brother's Restaurant Harvey
Billy Bob's-for BBQ, not much on the westbank in terms of BBQ

Mosca's for unreal Italian food, located in Westwego. Vine & Dine located in the Algiers Point area for good small plates and vino. WAlk over to the Old Pointe Bar for a nice neighborhood place that has good live music several nights a week.
