Put into context though, I think Jeter is arguably a top 5 all time Yankee as a total package. The Yankees pride themselves on championships, and he has 5. He's Mr November. He's a fan favorite. He has the 3000. He has "the flip". Hes grown up as a Yankee and been there his entire career. In the fans eyes, he does no wrong. Hell how often do you hear "I hate the Yankees but respect Jeter".

Purely from a state standpoint, no he's not a top 5. Maybe not even 10. As an all around player and figure and "Yankee" though, he's at least in the discussion for top 5.

From a "true Yankee" standpoint, the argument ends at Yogi Berra. I'm not saying Jeter is a bad player by any means, but he's clearly a level below those all-time greats IMNSHO.

I do think he's safely in the top ten of all time.
