The NBA has the biggest joke of a salary cap system I've ever seen. It's fricked up that the Lakers can afford a $90m payroll while the Hornets struggle in the mid-$60m range. Even the Mavs had something like an $88m roster when they won the title last year.

Yeah, playing together for ONE year and making the finals makes them suck. Are you serious dude?
reading comprehension...

They went out and got Jamison and an elderly Shaq? Are you kidding me?
Shaq averaged 18 and 8 the season before Cleveland signed him. Jamison averaged 21 and 9--terrible signings. Cleveland clearly wasn't interested in putting guys around LBJ and winning
...not to mention was Lebron was the one pushing Cleveland to sign Jamison.
Signings don't work out sometimes. The same thing could have happened with the Celtics.
You need to do your homework, and it seems like you're the one that needs to form your own opinion.

this...another reason why if a team like us wants to win a championship, we have to draft a superstar.

I read your post just fine. You are just another person amidst the plethora of haters that got on LeBron for not winning 5 rings in one season with the Heat.
If you think staying in Cleveland was the right move for his career, then we will have to agree to disagree, bc that's insanely asinine.

We had one, but unfortunately the organization wasn't stable enough at the right time to keep him.

keep ignoring what i said and stating this nonsense about last season...all i said is he still didn't win the championship. He's not guaranteed a title cause he's in Miami with the big three. They were close in Cleveland.

we will have to disagree, but if this is how you feel and how it seems like everyone feels, then we really should just have a six team league. Forget about small market teams. Hope we win the lottery, get Anthony Davis, and then watch him make a great career move and head to LA.

at least there is a new debate not tank vs. anti tank

No one wants a 6 team league, however I can't fault a player for wanting to work somewhere else after a 5-7 year period in a place he is no longer comfortable being in.
These are contracted employees at their respective companies. If you had the chance to leave a mid sized business where you are the best worker among a bunch of slackers and join a fortune 500 company with other peers who can work with you to make it to the top, would you not take that opportunity?
Because of egos and certain players never wanting to take pay cuts, the league will never get to a 6 team league.
Besides that, how can you force players to stay in smaller markets or on teams that they don't want to be on?
If these stars were leaving LA, New York and Boston to play in Nola, Milwaukee or Charlotte, would there be an uproar from the same people?
Would you rather work in boring Cleveland or Miami? How about Detroit or the sunny beaches of LA? Memphis or the glitz and glam of New York? It's not always about on the court. It's a place to live and it needs to match your lifestyle.

We should keep tanking next year so the NBA will downsize us and let a team like LA or Miami absorb us....
obviously joking.

this is a bad example...everyone acts like Cleveland was Washington. They were competing for a title each year. His situation in Cleveland was MUCH better than Paul's in New Orleans...both teams would be a fortune 500 company in your example
...Lebron is from Cleveland. That would be a factor if it were my decision.

it's a small market team problem. i don't get your point....I guess??

all the stars are leaving now. Dwight, Deron, Carmelo, etc....Small market team drafts star and they get three seasons to win a title. If they don't, they go to one of the five teams that signs whoever the hell they want every season....kinda sucks.
whether it's a good decision for lebron or not--i honestly don't care. frick lebron. but it's definitely what's wrong with the NBA.

Fair enough. What do you propose to remedy this problem?

further money incentives to stay with your team, franchise tag, etc.
