not true. look at bestbuy/lowes/homedepot/sears at $500 GE gas ranges & up. almost all have a self-clean option.
in fact the one i got (with the 5th burner
) actually has some kind of porelin or anodized oven racks that don't turn black when you leave them in to clean it. super cool. i know the discoloation doesn't hurt regular racks and its ok to leave them in, but i like GE found a way to solve this problem...even if the fricking socialist bastards didn't pay any tax this year.

dual fuel.... gas on top, elec. oven..
gas ovens seem to heat the house more and stay hotter longer after being turned off...
or, maybe i'm just having flash backs from the days before and without air conditioning..
