ya, but I'm not trying to make it a Brees vs. Brady thing. They are both great quarterbacks, as are Manning and Rodgers. I just think there is some question as to who is the best or who you would want out of those four. I have no problem with any of those four being #1, but there's gotta be some question

Why is that funny? This isn't a list for top 10 Qbs you want for the future. That is why Cam Newton isn't on this list. Brady has been consistent every year. Rodgers has only been starting for 4 years, which is why he is 3rd behind 2 Qbs who have been doing it for longer.
Peyton with his surgeries and missing last year moves him down. Next year my list will be different. Peyton may be number 2 or 3. Or 1. But not as of this moment in time. Brady wouldn't have been number 1 after his injury either.

Clearly you weren't taking ability to throw the ball more than 30 yards down field into account

Well obviously you're doing well if you have any of those 4. I just think with everything added up, its TB at this moment in time. Like I said, one of Brees, Rodgers, or Manning could make an argument depending on what type of season they have.
Also like I said, its very close between Brees and Brady, and its actually pretty damn close between the top 4. But as for who is number 1, well....

RIGHT NOW..........
Like it or Not I will go Brees, Rogers, ELI, Peyton, and Brady.
IF the Broncs get ANY kind of D they will get to the SB THIS year.
ELI has a better dec-Jan record than Peyton.
BREES is just PERFECT for a Sean Payton offense. It will be a bad year for the Saints.
Rivers is just on the edge of great. just on the wrong team.
Brady hasn't won a SB since 2004. the D is gone from that team. He has DEF lost some spots in this list.

Seriously? It's not like he hasnt had a wealth of options and solid defenses for most of his career..He/the Chargers have had their chances. They just haven't executed when it matters most

Agreed. Big Ben may be on a great team, but you have to take accomplishments into account at some point.

Something about Rivers, its like he doesn't have 'it', you know?
He has the tools, the talent, the team, everything but 'it'. He's a tough one to figure out. Top 10 for sure, but it just seems as though he will never be top 5. A lot like Romo.

with a torn MCL. Brees puts up the best playoff numbers IMO. He comes to play in primetime

LOL. not surprising since you told me a few years ago that brees wasn't a very good QB
Brees ahead of Eli isn't even up for debate
1. Rodgers
2. Brees
3. Brady
4. Peyton
5. Eli
6. Stafford
7. Rivers
8. Big Ben
9. Romo
10. Vick
Schaub could be thrown anywhere between 5-10 as well if healthy

Ok. What about the 17 interceptions 2 years before that? Or the 18 he put up the year before that one? He makes plays but he throws a lot of interceptions.
Brady on the other hand has never thrown more then 14 in a year. He also has 2 years where he threw 8 or less with his low being an incredible 4. Brees only has one such year where he threw 7 interceptions. Also, in both of Brady's low interception years, he throw for over 36 Tds both time, with one of those being the 50 Tds to 8 interceptions, while Brees only (I say only, but it is still a very high amount) threw 27.

Brady runs a much, much safer offense and had randy moss for many of those seasons. Drew Brees is a much better QB than he was in 2008. Also, in 2008 we lost all of our receivers and had a terrible defense.
I've never seen Brees not complete passes down field against anybody. Did Brady complete 1 in the Super Bowl?

How can you say he runs a safer offense? He still has to throw the ball, as evident by his stats. And there are only 3 things that can happen when the ball is in the air.
Also, they have both started 9 years in the league, yet Brees has only thrown for 800 more yards career wise. Brady has thrown for more career Tds and less career interceptions.
And Brady has 2 SB MVP's.
I don't even like Brady as a person. He's a total douche.
ETA: And Brees had LT and Antonio Gates when he was with San Diego....
