Who wins a Grammy first: Gotye or Alabama shakes?

b.) The whole Arcade Fire "debacle" is still on the industry's mind
I bet they go with a pop/over-produced act.

They probably had the most views of the last few Grammy shows. They sold a TON of records after that show.

I'm talking about the "who is arcade fire" people. It was great for AF - and I love 'em - but they were a 'dark horse' pick. I'm not sure your average record buyer (teen 12 - 18) was all that into them. My money's on Bruno Mars or someone similar.

Shakes will win it. I can't remember a band being as hyped as them before they produced a major album. Seriously, a ton of people had been talking about them well before they dropped the new one

Oh I know. A ton of my friends play in bands from Alabama and Georgia and they had told me of them early 2011. All Said they were gonna be huge. Had the sound, the voice, and the backing of some serious PR.

Alabama Shakes win one first. Between music snobs and hipsters, they're the most overhyped act I've seen online in a while.

Alabama Shakes. I've been saying they'd blow up, and that's about to happen. Good band, very old and soulful sounding. They also will appeal to so many because they are "different"; having an overweight woman who looks like she would never be a musician, wowing you.
