A lot of our protesting has been written off by the media because they think we hate him because he came from Birmingham City. Unfortunately that couldn't be further from the truth, we hate him because of his tactics, the players he buys, his record of negative soccer.
Exactly. Unfortunately this point seems totally lost on neutrals and the few McLeish backers out there; they assume he'd be hated no matter what just because of the blues connection. Total bullshite.

Randy has always been invisible.
True, he's always been a more hands-off owner, but he has attended fewer matches this season than any other since he took over. There has also been no communication about what the aims of the club are. Whether he owes the fans such communciation, that is debatable. However, he set a precedent when he came in waving scarves, splashing cash and speaking of the '5 year plan' to get Villa back among Europe's elite; it was a statement of intent. Now that the plan didn't work, nothing.
In fact, the last thing I remember hearing from the board was last summer after McLeish was hired when General Krulak spouted off about Europe still being the goal.

All of it makes me think there is some legitimacy to the rumors about the club being sold.

I completely agree he has built up a lot of goodwill since the takeover and has nearly undone all of it in the space of less than 2 years. I think they looked at it and decided it would be more advantageous to just ride out a few down years while re-structuring the wage scale rather than upset fans with PR concerning cost cutting. Of course they wouldn't have anticipated the shite storm that would follow two horrible managerial appointments that have seen us fall back to where we were pre-Lerner.
Also, Randy has gone through a messy divorce over the last few years in addition to Bank of America being hit hard by the global financial crisis. We haven't really invested in players other than replacements since we signed Downing what 3 years ago now?

That and Falkner came out sometime around mid-season and said that Europe was still the goal and was still realistic. Since we haven't won a home game since Novemeber I can't remember any PR coming from the club at all really regarding our goals and future. I guess we signed Holman the Aussie from AZ on a Bosman but thats it.

That would be incredible but I'll be skeptical about this until more legitimate rumors surface. It seems to be mostly speculation in hope rather than any serious interest
