The question you need to answer for yourself is what kind of fishing are you going to be doing the most of.

Inshore marshes and fresh with only the occasional venture into the gulf or large bays/lakes then i'd go aluminum all day long.

If you plan on having any significant time crossing open water or in the gulf then you had better get fiberglass if you don't wanna get beat to death in a little chop and soaked on top of that.

If you go aluminum, definitely go with the Express...I've always liked those. If you go fiberglass, it's a kind of a crap shoot...just find what you think is a good deal and post it here asking our opinion . Oh and thehulltruth.com is your friend.
