One thing I really liked about the Grill Dome was the sturdiness of the hinge system:

That isn't the hinge of a BGE. This is:
Sorry for the size, it's the best picture I could find. The hinge is very sturdy on the Large BGE, FWIW. It's the X-large that seems a bit sketchy at times. But they just redesigned it I believe, so it's better now.
