LINK

I don't want to be one of those people claiming to have sources but some water cooler talk at work today has this guy as a potential candidate.

Lehigh is Alleva's Alma Mater.

ETA: I would hope we do much better than this if he is really a candidate.

Would give us some academic cred to have a PhD coach, I guess.

So did 104.5 mention this? Sorry, I don't listen to that much.

The guy I was talking to said he (Dr. Reed) was actually interviewed yesterday.

He interviewed basically because Allevas alma mater, he beat Duke this year in tournament, been at lehigh 5 years and has a winning percentage of just over 72%, solid year last year ...better resume than JJ, we should call him Dr. reed if hired, but feel its a token interview

After the Trent Johnson experience, I have to wonder how a coach from an "academic" school can fare in the SEC, recruiting wise. It's a different HS pool we draw from relative to Stanford and Lehigh.

Like another poster mentioned, if this guy was actually interviewed then I'm sure it was just a courtesy interview. No way this guy could be a serious candidate for the job and if he is then fml.

did you look at the roster for Lehigh?

1. they are from all over the USA. Being able to recruit nationally is just as necessary for LSU as Lehigh. Louisiana had NO players in the rivals top 100 last 2011-2012 class.

2. their majors are listed, which is cool. chemistry. computer science. engineering. actual fields of study, not general studies.

If you listen to this Reed dude talk he is VERY Impressive.

He had some STUDS on his LeHigh team this year also.

If he can get talent to Le fricking High, imagine the possibilities.

I would take this guy in a heartbeat.

That's kind of my point. There aren't many stud hoops players who are academically legit, and they tend to go to places like Duke.
