good list except Tennessee in 2010 should not be on there. That game was miserable. I've never left a stadium more dissatisfied with a win.

First time I've seen that play from that angle... That is a hell of a facemask on Hester.

From an outsider I'd say 2007 Florida was one of the best I've seen.

2003 UGA-LSU should be atop that list. The last five minutes of that game were transformative. Mauck to Green and the subsequent one handed Corey Webster interception were landmarks in LSU football history. In a single half hour on a sun-drenched afteroon, we demolished catastrophe syndrome, dispeled the myth that LSU was incapable of winning marquee day games, and vaulted from regional novelty to national powerhouse. It was the moment the sleeping giant awoke and shook its mighty mane.

UGA 03 was my favorite. I'll always remember that game.

Errata:

2000 Alabama
quote:

Riding Josh Booty's arm and Reed and LaBrandon Toefield's legs, the Tigers battled back. Booty tied the game at 21, hitting Robert Royal in the back of the end zone with less than 10 minutes left in the game.

That TD didn't tie the game because Alabama blocked the extra point. It was 21-20 when we recovered a fumble on the ensuing possession and kicked a FG to go up 23-21.

2010 Tennessee:

quote:

Fast forward to the end of the fourth quarter, and the Tigers are trailing by two points. Jarrett Lee leads the offense down the field into the red zone, and Les Miles decides to change the package with the play clock running out.

We weren't trailing by two points, it was four. If we had been down only two, there would have been no drama. Instead of trying to run it into the end zone, we could have just kicked a FG.

Auburn 2005:

quote:

Vaughn missed five field goals in that ball game, and even as an LSU fan, you had to feel sorry for the guy.

Nope. Didn't feel sorry for him one bit.

Arkansas 2007:

No list of great games should include this fiasco.

Auburn 2007:

quote:

In other words, if he would have dropped the pass, LSU would have lost.

No matter how many times you repeat a lie, it's still a lie.

Florida 2007:

quote:

Not only was this the greatest game of the 2000s in Death Valley, but I'm willing to say that this is the greatest game in the history of Tiger Stadium.

No. I've personally witnessed a few that were better. Hell, it's not even the best LSU-Florida game in Tiger Stadium of the last 15 years, let alone the best game ever against anybody in Tiger Stadium.

UGA '03
Florida '07

Auburn '07

Hate to say it, but MSU '00 and Tenn '00 were awesome ones to be at too.

UGA 03 was definitely the defining moment that LSU football is back and better than ever.

Florida 07 may have been the best game, though.

1/2 doesn't really matter here as long as this is the 1 and 2.

but it's fricking bleacher report. I still support the motion that posting bleacher report without putting a B/R in the title should be a bannable offense.

2000 Alabama

Does anyone else remember how hard that curse died that night? There was a Bama punt that a Bama player touched, then it hit an LSU player and the refs gave the ball to Bama inside the LSU 20. The crowd went berzerk and the refs used the Jumbotron (illegally) to figure out what happened. How could you leave that out?

quote:

Florida 2007:

But thank you for mentioning that an errant pass by Tebow himself (it bounced off of his receiver's helmet) set up the LSU comeback. I was p.o.'d that the media glossed over the fact that Tebow let the Tigers back in the game. He went on to win the Heisman that year while leading his team to a 3-loss record and a bowl loss. Jacob Hester, on the other hand, who single handedly converted the most important first downs of the night, was not even metioned in the Heisman conversation.

Those videos are legendary, but I don't think they're legal. Watch them be taken down faster now for copywrite penalties.
