the reason I think this is the problem is this: once I launch the boat and idle, it seems the boat isnt picking up fresh water to cool the motor because th etemp will shoot up and warn me the motor is getting hot. but once sit in Neutral, or reverse and rev up the motor it will finally pick up. but it taks some work.. but when I go to flush the motor with the hose attatchment that goes directly into the motor it works fine. So i dont really know what problem I have.

It might be the thermostat sticking, fresh water from the hose is bypassing that. Also, if memory serves, the hoses running to the impeller can get debris that slows down the flow to the line.
