With Connecticut facing a potential 2013 postseason ban, junior forward/center Alex Oriakhi has decided he'd rather play for a team with a chance to play in the NCAA tournament.

Might be a tough sell.

LSU would have a STOUT front line with Hamilton, JOB and Oriakhi. Seriously would kill on the boards. Just get some guard play and LSU will surely be dancing.

I agree, but I would think it isn't just about the dance with him. I'm sure he wants a legit shot at a ring.

He already has one. He probably wants to play a lot considering he sat the bench for UConn. Oriakhi would instantly be the best big man on LSU. Hamilton looks like a slug next to Oriakhi.

You're overrating him.

Frontcourt would be badass, but I can't imagine how bad our perimeter defense would be with that lineup and Hickey and Stringer.

Either way they aren't getting the high percentage shots in the paint with all those big men.

True, I'd much rather give up jumpers than points in the paint.

that would be a big boost if TJ could land him.

Won't Hamilton be gone by the time Oriakhi's eligible to play?

Nope, because of UConn's postseason ban he is granted a waiver where he can play immediately.

SEC does not allow graduate transfers. They made a rule the summer after Jeremiah Masoli

edit- I didnt read the waiver part, this probably circumvents SEC rule

He is NOT a graduate transfer, simply eligible because of UConn's postseason ban.
